2024 Forbes Working Dog Auction
Terms and Conditions of Entry and Information
Each entry form must be submitted with proof of entry fee payment of $100 per dog (payment is non refundable) or $120 if demonstrating on Friday (Cattle, Sheep paddock or Goats)
A maximum of 3 dogs per vendor will be accepted
If you have not heard from the committee within 48 hrs of entries closing your dog/s have been accepted into the sale.
No advertising of dogs for auction until your dog has been accepted into the sale by the committee.
The Forbes Working Dog Club reserves the right to ballot dogs out to achieve the desired mix of dogs, but will consult with vendors involved and refund fees if dogs are omitted. The committee’s decision is final.
No pups under 16 weeks old are to be entered or sold. All dogs and pups must be able to demonstrate working ability.
The committee reserves the right to limit numbers of dogs entered.
Bitches in osterus are not permitted on the grounds during the event.
Dogs must be in good health, all dogs entered must have a current vaccination certificate (minimum of C3) and health check letter from a registered veterinarian. NO CERTIFICATE, NO SALE . This will be returned to the vendor if the dog is not sold.
The Forbes Working Dog Club encourages all dogs to be microchipped but is not mandatory for sale.
Vendors who suspect their dog may be aggressive towards stock, other dogs or humans must state this in the catalogue. This dog must be muzzled at all times whilst on the grounds.
Vendors must demonstrate their dog at the time allocated. If not then, they forfeit their right to demonstrate.
Dogs being demonstrated must not be allowed to work in a fashion which may lead to stock being mistreated or injured. If so the demonstration will be stopped immediately.
Vendors are requested to register at the office by Saturday the 20th of July.
Reserve prices on dogs must be submitted by the 25th of June 5:00pm for AuctionsPlus platform. These cannot be changed so think carefully before submitting.
Commission of 7% of the sale price will be charged.
Collars are to be sold with the dog. You will require your own tie up lead which can be collected after auction.
Vendors will be paid for dogs within 14 days of sale.
No dogs are to be traded prior to auction. No dog other than those to be auctioned may be demonstrated.
Dogs passed in at auction will be held by the Committee for 1 hour to allow negotiation between agents and the under bidder. The reserve price will be the minimum which that dog can be sold for on that day.
The Committee and/or its representative will adjudicate on any disputes.
Normal auction terms and conditions apply. The auction will be conducted by representatives of Elders who have been appointed by the Forbes Working Dog Club committee.
AuctionsPlus will be on‐site. If your dog is sold to an on‐line bidder the committee members will discuss with you particulars regarding dog delivery to the purchaser.
The responsibility of the well‐being, control and restraint of dogs and their actions rests with the owner.
Vendors should contact the Committee as soon as possible if for any reason their dog is no longer available for the auction. This may allow them to substitute another dog, subject to approval of the Committee.
Presale Catalogue will be available on the website and facebook.
The vendor agrees to their contact number being printed in the catalogue and displayed on‐line for the purpose of potential buyers to contact them.

Definitions of Terminology (for the catalogue)
These definitions are to be used as a guide only. If the organising committee does not agree that the video footage matches the description of your dog you may be requested to change the description or remove the dog from the sale. Around 6 weeks should be allowed for a new handler to bond with the purchased dog and the dog to settle in (this time will vary between dogs and handlers).
